What is a PP magnetic flap level gauge?
The PP magnetic flap level gauge (full name: polypropylene magnetic flap level gauge) is a magnetic flap level gauge mainly made of polypropylene (PP) material. It utilizes the principle of a communicator and magnetic coupling technology, enabling an on-site intuitive liquid level display through an external flipping column, and can optionally be equipped with a remote transmitter to output a 4-20mA signal or switch alarm.
Compared to traditional 304/316L stainless steel magnetic flap level meters, PP material offers superior resistance to acid and alkali corrosion, is lightweight, and inexpensive, making it an ideal choice for level measurement of highly corrosive media such as hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, hydrofluoric acid, plating solutions, and wastewater.
Working principle of the PP magnetic flap plate level gauge
The float inside the main tube of the instrument rises and falls with the liquid level, with permanent magnets embedded inside the float. Through magnetic coupling, it drives the red and white flipping columns outside the main tube to flip (red indicates liquid, white indicates no liquid), enabling visible local indication without power supply.
If remote monitoring is required, a reed teleconverter can be bundled on the outside of the main tube to linearly convert the liquid level height into a standard current signal of 4-20mA or RS485 digital signal, then connect to the PLC/DCS system for automatic control and alarm interlock.
